Help pack food orders at the NOWBC warehouse
Join the local food movement! Help us distribute these delicious, locally grown, and ethically imported organic foods to the hungry people of Vancouver. We’re looking for a few people to pack food orders each week.
When
- Wednesdays from 10:00am – 2:00pm
- Thursdays from 9:00am – 1:00pm
What
The job consists of weighing and bagging produce, grains, etc, packing items into delivery boxes, checking order accuracy against packing slips, and cleaning up. We also do inventory on Thursdays. The co-op places emphasis on re-usable packaging, or no packaging at all wherever possible. Take a hands on role in the local food and sustainability movement!
Qualifications
A love of good food. There is also a small amount of lifting involved.
Benefits & Recognition
An opportunity to learn more about local farms and eating locally. You might be able to tell the difference between Siberian and rainbow Tuscan kale, or chioggia, red and golden beets. Volunteers helping on a regular basis are also eligible for a discount on organic food orders through the co-op!
